Malka Mari national park is situated in the north Eastern Kenya Ethiopian boarderinalong the Daua river on the Mandera plateaucovered with hills and valleys it’s considered to be one of the most remote national parks in the country but with yet a very rewarding adventure experience.
Malka Mari national park covers 1500 kilometers squared boasting with various wildlife, dramatic landscapes, historic sites and various wildlife, the vegetation at the park is palms stream lining the Daua river, grasslands, semi arid bush land and riparian woodlands.
Malka Mari national park was established in 1989 and the climate is hot and dry almost throughout the year it was gazetted due to it’s highest concentration of wildlife, the surrounding areas of the park are nominated by Gureh nomadic herders the human settlement is very scarce due to it’s climatic conditions.

Getting to Malka Mari national park can be extremely difficult as it’s vey far and remote, by road, tourists will need to get to isiolo, from isioli to moyale and from moyale pass through the year and sat hills to banissa where the parks airstrip is located. The other route passed through majir and has got two main routes to reach there
For tourists looking for luxury and not interested in long rough journeys, they can visit the park by accessing it through banissa airstrips or an airstrip situated within the park.
The park can be visited throughout the year as it’s semiarid dry with bushes that are not thick making it easy to view wildlife.
